I am a wedding photographer based in Fresno, CA. For the past 3 years I have been capturing adventurous love stories and helping others feel loved and supported throughout their wedding experience. If there isn't a camera in my hand, you would find me watching Friends or The Office, eating Chick-fil-A, and hanging our with my hubby and puppy.
This is one of the greatest love stories that God had his hands on the whole time… and I was blessed to have captured it all! The coronavirus has affected everyone in different ways, but for this couple, it changed their whole wedding day around; from something tragic, to something beautiful.
Michael and Sam had their wedding venue all set to be in San Diego in May, that is until COVID-19 shut it down. So why not get married NOW?! They set out to plan their wedding in a week in Michael’s parent’s backyard. And may I add, this is no ordinary backdrop, it was AMAZING (you’ll see). As they were planning the little details to get this ceremony going they had a few bumps in the road. First, their wedding photographer canceled, and then the backup was sick until the day before the wedding. So one of Sam’s bridesmaids posted an Instagram story that there was an urgent need for a wedding photographer and I had three people send it to me so I reached out ASAP! I didn’t know it was Sam’s wedding at first but once I found out, I was so excited!! God was doing some crafty work here!
Photographer – check! Then her hairstylist canceled as well. Fortunately, her bridesmaid, Molly, knew how to do hair and had lots of practice beforehand. Luckily, her make up artist was still available and WOW her work was beautiful!

Then Sam’s wedding dress was put on emergency tailoring which was great until the day before Sam found out it wasn’t ready, the tailor accidentally mixed hers up with someone else’s order. This tailor was determined to finish it that day and thank God she did! On top of all this chaos, it was supposed to rain on that day.
All these roadblocks and weather conditions did not stop Michael and Sam’s determination to get married. They put their faith in God when everything seemed uncertain. Trusting that He would provide a special day to celebrate their wedding and vows.
And let me tell ya, this day was perfect! I mean everything fell into place so well, it seemed like a miracle! Both sides of the family were extremely helpful and supportive. It was a small wedding full of those closest to the bride and groom. Their ceremony took place under a covered courtyard and thank God because it started raining as soon as Sam walked down the aisle with her mom and dad.
And when the ceremony ended, it stopped raining just in time for their just married shots! We drove to downtown Visalia and to our luck no one was there because of COVID-19. We were able to take photos in the street which was a blast. AND the sun even came out at the most perfect time (I was about to cry of pure joy). Like WHAT?! God knew what He was doing the whole time and WOW it was breathtaking.
The night ended with delicious food from Azul’s and heartfelt speeches and toasts. Yummy dessert included ice cream from Ampersand and donuts which are my fav! Everything about this day wasn’t at all what Michael and Sam had envisioned for their wedding day, but it was so much better in many ways. God had his hands on this couple and this day is one wedding I will never forget
