I am a wedding photographer based in Fresno, CA. For the past 3 years I have been capturing adventurous love stories and helping others feel loved and supported throughout their wedding experience. If there isn't a camera in my hand, you would find me watching Friends or The Office, eating Chick-fil-A, and hanging our with my hubby and puppy.
Congratulations on your upcoming engagement photos! Here are some tips to get ready and make the most of your photo session!!
Pick a location: Choose a location that is meaningful to you and your partner or one that has a scenic backdrop. This can add a personal touch to your photos and make them more memorable. You want to feel care free and comfortable in the location so choose wisely! Ask your photographer for recommendations on locations.
Choose the right outfits: Think about what you and your partner feel comfortable in and what will make you both look and feel your best. Coordinate your outfits to complement each other without being too matchy-matchy. Stay away from lots of stripes, bold patterns, or neon colors. It’s best to keep colors neutral and less patterns are better. Be mindful of the location when picking out outfits because you don’t want to wear a flowy dress in a windy location and feel uncomfortable.
Get your hair and makeup done: You want to look your best in your photos, so consider getting your hair and makeup done professionally. Make sure to communicate your preferences to your stylist and ask for a natural and glowing look. Engagement photos are a great practice for you and your makeup artist to do a trial run.
Relax and have fun: Engagement photos are meant to capture your love and excitement, so don’t stress too much about posing perfectly or getting every shot just right. Just relax, have fun with your partner, and let your love shine through. Laugh, dance, and enjoy the moment!
Remember, these photos are a celebration of your love, so embrace this season of life and enjoy the moment!
