How To Prepare For Your Engagement Shoot
Engagement sessions are my absolute FAVORITE!! It is a perfect time for us to get to know each other and become comfortable before your big wedding day. At first, it can be nerve-racking because it’s new, but trust me, you’re going to have a blast with your sweetheart and make memories that will last a lifetime! For all of the fun and excitement going to happen, you need to be prepared. Let me help!
First things first, I want you to feel comfortable at the location, so I will let you decide where. If you need help with options, I got you! If you like the mountains, beach, country, city, or other special places to you, I’m down for wherever!
You get three outfits changes, however, if you feel like that’s a lot then two is great too! The more variety the better! Most of my couples like to have at least one dressed up outfit and one more casual. Please avoid a lot of stripes, plaid, and any crazy designs. Florals and solids are great! Certain colors look great in the mountains or in the summer so please don’t be afraid to ask what colors to stick to.
Ladies! Feel free to treat yourself with a manicure (to show off that bling!), make up, and hair appointment. You don’t have to do all of these but if you do, make sure there is enough time and you don’t feel rushed. Guys! Get that hair cut so it’s lookin fresh! Also, spray on some cologne before the session to make you more irresistible to your lady. 🙂
Be on time! Leave early enough so you don’t feel rushed. Being early and prepared is better than being late. If you are running late, don’t blame your significant other!! This can cause tension before the session and then you will remember how you felt while taking the photos. You want to be happy and excited before the session so you can look back at the photos and feel joyful.
