I am a wedding photographer based in Fresno, CA. For the past 3 years I have been capturing adventurous love stories and helping others feel loved and supported throughout their wedding experience. If there isn't a camera in my hand, you would find me watching Friends or The Office, eating Chick-fil-A, and hanging our with my hubby and puppy.
I figured since I got a great response on Kyle and Claire’s lake session, I’d share some more of my favorites and how fun our session went!
When we first arrived at Millerton Lake, we had to scout out the beach area where they could walk around. While Kyle was parking the car, Claire and I needed to test the lighting and WOW it was amazing!
My vision for this lake shoot was to start outside the lake walking around and then slowly inch their way into the lake. With my 85mm I had to stand a little further away while they walked slowly towards me. Sweet forehead kisses, little twirl and a dip to complete our dry photos.
As they slowly started getting in the lake, I changed my lens to 70-200mm because they were getting further away. I had Kyle spin Claire around like they do in the Notebook all elegant like, which then turned into a fun and very wet experience!
Time to slow things down and take advantage of that beautiful sun flare. Sometimes I’m not really sure how the sun flare will come out but it definitely worked in our favor.
I wanted to try something new. I have always loved silhouette photos and this was the perfect scenery and lighting to try them out. My ISO and aperture stayed the same as I adjusted my shutter speed to let less light in. It is truly amazing what a camera can do if you learn to experiment and try new things.
Photos with couples are so easy when all the guy has to do is show lots of love for his girl and Kyle definitely has tons of love towards Claire. It is so obvious how much these two are in love because it made my job seem like I almost didn’t need to be there to direct them in a pose. They were happy and carefree which made my job as the professional 3rd wheel easy peasy!
I quickly changed back to my 85mm to get these dreamy shore photos. Even in their wet clothes, they were still willing to take a few extra ones. I love when couples are willing to do new things to get that perfect photo!
These last photos were actually Kyle’s idea and it turned out to be absolutely AMAZING!! He suggested them getting even further in the water! I was all for it! I even got my shorts wet when I had to crouch down with my 70-200mm to get that angle. My favorite photos by far!
